I'm Calum.
I'm from the North East, and I've spent my working life in the numbers side of business: nine years of it, with a master's degree behind me. By day I work for a North East firm as an eCommerce data analyst.
Before that I spent a year leading a small team looking after ninety-odd business owners in the United States, most of them running private clinics. Their money came through health insurers, so chasing what they were owed was practically a job in itself. I was on the phone to those owners every month, talking about money. That is where I learned what unpaid invoices actually do to a small business, and to the person running it.
Duesworth is what I built in my evenings, because the same pattern kept nagging at me: good business owners doing excellent work all day, then spending their evenings writing awkward emails asking to be paid for it. Putting it off. Feeling bad about it. Funding other people's businesses with their own unpaid money.
Chasing invoices is a job nobody wants, which is exactly why it should be somebody's actual job. So I made it mine.
